I started shooting Polaroids about a year ago, ever since I have been addicted to them. In my travels I love using them as postcards, I hate how they always get bent up or destroyed in the mail though, so I decided to try and find envelopes for my beloved postcards, but to my discontent I found none. As a lover of maps (especially old US maps) I thought I would combine my love of both, Polaroids and anything cartography related to make my own envelopes that would perfectly fit one Polaroid. Using an old 1960’s map I had scanned into make a 24x46 wall map showing the places I had to traveled last year, I used it again to make these envelopes in the pictures above. I made a template in CS5, but I’m still refining them, these are just a test. I want the final envelopes to have the look of an aged map, not the pure white like above. I hope to show you all the end result soon.
